Capote

The capote was made by the Mountains and Plains Indians to survive the cold and wind of the plains. It was made popular in America by the French Voyageurs. The capote was commonly made from trade blankets. Using nearly all of one blanket , the capote looks like a hooded robe. It is a garment that is great for all cold weather outings and would make a fine addition to your wardrobe.

Capes are made for daily or nighttime wear for men and women. They come unlined or fully lined. Some are made with 1 or 2 caplets and different styles of hoods.
